IRQR has established close working relationships with the UNHCR, the Canadian Embassy in Turkey, and other NGOs to assist refugees throughout the asylum process.
IRQR’s Success Rate
Closed/Waiting for Resettlement: Asylum seekers who was granted refugee status and they will be resettled in a safe country like Canada and the USA soon or they already resettled and their file are successfully closed.
We assist with the completion of immigration forms, counseling for the immigration interview, expediting the embassy’s processing of files where too much time is required, resolving case issues and bureaucratic hurdles, follows up with government agencies where can, at times, take up to two years delay, and provide resources about settlement in Canada and the USA, and counseling about what to expect, how to adapt to their new life.
IRQR is presently working to strengthen partnerships in resettlement countries to better provide post-settlement support to individuals granted resettlement in Canada and ease them through the transition to life in their new home.
Pre-UNHCR Decision: Those who left their country of origin and applied for asylum and they are either waiting for their registration, legal interview or UNHCR result.
IRQR responds to individual inquires made at the pre-UNHCR decision process. Individuals are provided with resources on all aspects of the process including: information required for registration and interview, reviews of applications for financial aid and authorizing temporary aid on case-by-case basis, process & logistics counseling to individuals, and interviewing prospective applicants.
Post-UNHCR Decision: Those who either were rejected by the UNHCR at first instance interview and they are in process of appeal or their file were closed at the UNHCR and they are in process of assessment for re-opening their file.
IRQR gives assistance during all stages of the UNHCR process. IRQR provides guidance on completing the forms and application package, provides affidavits to UNHCR on the individual’s behalf, preparations for interviews with UNHCR, completing assessment of vulnerabilities of refugees (remotely or in person), and ensures regular follow-up on cases.
